Each keyword is checked against Google's top 10. Go deeper per keyword, to 20, 50 or 100, if you need to watch pages further down. - Every week
Deep sweep
A weekly sweep checks the top 50 or 100 and loads the AI Overview, so pages climbing from page three show up before they reach page one.
What it doesn't do
So you can decide before you sign up, not after.
- Countries only: no city or ZIP code tracking. For a business that serves one town, that's a real gap, and we'd rather say so.
- Google only. No Bing, Yahoo or YouTube rankings.
- No email or Slack alerts when a keyword drops yet. You read the change on the dashboard.
- Checking deeper than the top 10 counts each keyword more than once against your limit: once per 10 results checked.

Questions
- How often does SEOpen check rankings?
- Every morning for every tracked keyword, plus a deeper weekly sweep. You can also run a check or a deep check on one keyword whenever you like.
- Why is my position different when I search myself?
- Your own searches are personalised by location, history and sign-in. SEOpen checks a neutral, signed-out result for the country and device you set, which is closer to what a new visitor sees.
- Can I track mobile and desktop separately?
- Yes. Each keyword is set to desktop or mobile. Track the same keyword twice to watch both.
- Where does the ranking data come from?
- From DataForSEO's live Google results, checked from the country you choose. Search volumes come from DataForSEO too, refreshed monthly.
- Does rank tracking include AI Overviews?
- Yes. The weekly sweep records whether each keyword shows an AI Overview and whether it cites you.
