This page explains what SEOpen collects and what it does with it, in plain words. SEOpen runs getseopen.com, an SEO workbench: rank tracking, site audits, keyword and backlink research, Google Search Console and Google Analytics reports, and AI search visibility for the websites you add.

What we collect

  • Beta waitlist: if you join it, your email address, and if you choose to give them, the site you'd use SEOpen for and how you heard about us. We also note which of our pages the form was on and the website that sent you there, so we know which pages and channels work.
  • Account details: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash), or the email address, name and picture Google shares when you sign in with Google.
  • What you add: projects (website addresses, markets, competitors), tracked keywords, saved keyword lists, AI prompts you track, and your settings.
  • Google data you connect: Search Console and Google Analytics reports for the sites and properties you choose. See Google user data below.
  • Research results: public search data about the sites and keywords you look up, such as rankings, search volumes, backlinks, page crawls and AI answers.
  • Billing: Stripe handles payment. We store your plan and subscription status. We never see or store your card number.
  • Usage records: which paid lookups ran and what they cost, so we can show your usage and apply your plan's limits.
  • Technical logs: our hosts keep short-lived request logs (such as IP address and browser) for security and debugging.

Why we use it

  • To run the service: sign you in, run your scheduled checks and show your reports.
  • To keep it fair: apply plan limits, and stop people from starting free trial after free trial.
  • To email you about your account, for example to confirm your address, reset your password or tell you a limit was reached. No marketing email without your consent.
  • To bill you if you're on a paid plan.
  • To email you once when your beta invite is ready, if you joined the waitlist.

Cookies and analytics

SEOpen sets only the cookies it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in and one that remembers which project you last opened. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers and no analytics cookies.

Our public pages (getseopen.com, not the app) use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and measure page speed. They set no cookies and don't identify you or follow you across other sites.

Google user data

When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and picture, and use them only to create and run your account.

When you connect Google, we ask for read-only access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics (the webmasters.readonly and analytics.readonly scopes). We use it only to read reports for the sites and properties you pick (search queries, pages, clicks, impressions, positions, indexing status and organic landing-page traffic) and show them to you and the people in your workspace. We store a copy so your history outlasts Google's 16 months. We never write to your Google account.

  • The Google access token is encrypted before it is stored.
  • We don't sell Google user data, use it for advertising, use it to train AI models, or send it to DataForSEO or any other service.
  • People at SEOpen don't read it unless you ask us to for support, it's needed for security, or the law requires it.
  • Disconnecting Google in SEOpen deletes the stored token, and you can also revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions.

SEOpen's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who helps us run SEOpen

  • Vercel (website hosting and page analytics)
  • DigitalOcean (database and background jobs)
  • DataForSEO (search data). It receives the website addresses, keywords, page addresses and AI prompts you ask SEOpen to look up, never your account details or Google data.
  • Google (Search Console and Analytics data you connect, and Sign in with Google)
  • Stripe (billing)
  • Resend (account email)

Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.

Keeping and deleting data

  • Disconnect Google: the token is deleted immediately. The reports already stored stay until you delete the project or your workspace.
  • Delete a project: everything stored for it is deleted.
  • Delete your workspace: everything goes, including projects, reports and Google access, and any paid subscription is cancelled. Database backups that still hold it expire within 7 days.
  • Export: every table in SEOpen can be downloaded as CSV.
  • Trial checks: to stop repeated free trials we keep a one-way fingerprint of the email address, card and Google account used for a trial, even after the workspace is deleted. It can't be turned back into the original details.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time from the app, or by emailing us. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them.
