AI visibility checker: does ChatGPT name you?
Enter your site and what you sell, and this checker asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity up to three questions your customers would ask. You see each answer, whether it names your brand, where you land among the brands it lists, and whether it cites your site as a source.
Choosing good questions
Ask what a buyer asks before they know your name: “What are the best running shoes for flat feet?” rather than “Is Acme good?”. The checker fills three questions from your topic; edit them to match how your customers talk, and include a place when you sell locally.
Keep each question to one need. A broad question gets a broad list of the biggest brands; a specific one is where a smaller site can show up.
What moves AI visibility
- Be mentioned elsewhere. Reviews, comparisons, Reddit threads and directories are what assistants read about you.
- Be crawlable. If OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot is blocked, those answers can't cite you. The AI search readiness checker shows which are.
- Answer the question on your page. A clear, current page that answers it in its first paragraph is easy to quote.
Questions
- Are these the real ChatGPT and Gemini answers?
- Yes. ChatGPT and Gemini answers come from their consumer apps with web search on, the way a person sees them; Perplexity's come from its Sonar model with web search. Answers vary from one run to the next, so read one check as a sample, not a verdict.
- What's the difference between named and cited?
- Named means the answer mentions your brand or domain in its text. Cited means it links to a page on your site as a source. An assistant can do either without the other.
- Why does my brand not show up?
- Assistants name brands that other sites mention often: reviews, comparisons, forums, directories. If your own pages rank for the question but few other sites talk about you, you are more likely to be cited than named.
- Is there a limit?
- Three checks a day per visitor, and a shared monthly budget. A question someone asked in the last seven days shows the saved answer for free.
